It is my husbands dream to go on the Grand Slam hunts. Every time we get anything in the mail from GSCO he says something about it. I want to see if I can help make that possible for him. I know NOTHING about these hunts unfortunately. I would really like to purchase one of these hunts for him but I have no idea how much they are. Is there one that is less expensive than the others?? I have around $4000, am I dreaming that I will ever be able to find anything for that amount?? Any information would be really appreciated. Also please do not take advantage of my ignorance of this subject...I would just really like to do something nice for my hubby because he does so much for us. Thanks in advance for the information.

Bosha, it will be hard to find a sheep hunt in North America for that amount of money. Many of the western states have draw tags available, but the odds are terrible in just about all of the states. Occasionally, someone will get lucky and draw a tag with few or no bonus points, but generally it is years. I have applied in every state that offers sheep tags from many years now and was lucky enough to draw ONE tag a few years ago. Dall sheep hunts in Alaska used to be very affordable, but even those have gone up in recent times. There are raffle tags available in several states and from this website (GSCO). The GSCO raffle is actually for all 4 sheep for one hunter! Might be worth buying a few chances for that one... That may be the best chance for someone without a lot of bonus points. Sheep hunting is a lot of fun, but the tags are really hard to come by. Good luck to you and your husband,

Testing the waters. Being interested and being bitten are different things. For starters, maybe something closer to home, if you are North American residents.
Google up 'Texas aoudad hunts'. Beautiful animal and can be a very challenging hunt. You can find an excellent aoudad hunt in the rugged Davis Mts. of West Texas for around $4500. And airfare etc. will be a lot less than trying an international hunt. And you can probably go with your husband for not much extra cost. Fly into Albuquerque and rent a car for a short vacation through New Mexico with a detour to the Carlsbad Caverns on the drive to the Davis Mts. in West Texas. An ibex hunt in Kyrgyzstan may be quoted for less, but airfare, hotels, visa, firearm permit, etc., etc. can run the price up by several thousand dollars. If your husband finds out by 'field testing' after an aoudad hunt that he has been bitten by the sheep bug, he'll find a way to do more mountain hunting. Good 'hunting' and good luck OREGONCARL |

Yes, the price for airfare is high. If you book with us you must pay only 4500USD. The visa cost - 70USD Hotels??? only in Bishkek for one night - 60-70USD. tipps? 100-150USD. If you flight throw Moscow (for example NY-Moscow-Bishkek)- 600USD If you flight throw Istambul - 1000-1200USD F or this hunt in Tjan-Shan mountans you must to pay not more then 6000USD with ALL COSTS . I dnot think that this trip is very expensive. Best regards |

For a US domestic option, my advice would be to look into an Aoudad hunt with someone like Desert Safaris or Point Blank hunts...
