What could I expect for quality in unit 3. How tough is the area to hunt and have you ever hunted or know about B Joe Coy, or John Porter as guides. Also recommendations of mid to late September vs October conditions. Any info would be great.

My cousin hunted in area 3 several years ago and took a great ram, one of the largest for Wyoming that year. The area is reported to be generally a bit easier than other areas but I have not hunted it. My cousin said it was much easier than his other sheep hunts. The area is hard to draw and that should be a good indication of the ram quality and numbers. Remember, Wyoming has plenty of rams, but not plenty of huge rams.

I hunted in area 2 a few years ago and had a great hunt with John Porter. He did a super job of scouting and preparation.

B. Joe is a great guy and his hunt reports in GSCO speak for themself. This is a tough decision, but whichever way you go, I would think you will be happy.

I hunted early September and saw plenty of rams. I cannot comment on October other than to say, dress warm.

I hope to be out there soon. Any help with that area and or my questions. Looking to hone in and talk to people who know the unit a little better. Ive alredy reached out to wg&f now just looking for hunters who can describe the area (terain, expectations, guides,etc ) Thanks for the help.
