The deadline to order tickets in the Washington raffle of a Rocky Mountain Bighorn tag/license is August 2nd!
Currently, sales are at their lowest point in the history of this raffle. So now is your chance. Buy a few tickets to give yourself an opportunity to win the tag.
Washington FNAWS works hard to run this raffle every year, and are the folks that pushed the state to offer this raffle tag. They would sure appreciate your support!
The order form (which can be faxed in) is at:
The 4th Annual Washington Rocky Mtn Bighorn Raffle concluded yesterday as WDFW Biologist Paul Wik pulled the lucky hunter's name from the barrel. Chris Dianda from Nevada is very excited for the opportunity to harvest his first Rocky Mtn Bighorn Sheep. When I finally reached Chris on the phone last night he said, "This is the best phone call I have ever received!"
Sales really took off the last 16 days as final sales total $89,280 resulting in $80,352 going to WDFW for Rocky Mtn Bighorn projects. Since August of 2005, Washington FNAWS has raised over $330,000 for WDFW from the Rocky raffle to fund our Rocky Mtn bighorn program. In the end we had a record number of people buy raffle tickets but gross sales were still down about 10% compared to last year. The revenue earned by WAFNAWS for WDFW will allow the department to complete Rocky Mtn bighorn transplants over the next two winters.
Thanks again for everyone's support of this year's raffle.
Yours in Conservation,
Glen A. Landrus
