Hi, I put in for the Utah sheep draw and saw a draw for mountain goat, being as it's only $5.00 (and I now have a customer ID!) would it be a good idea to apply for the goat tag also?
Say, I draw the tag, are there a lot of goats to hunt and is it expensive? I'd hate to draw a tag and then find a 10 percent success rate. Hope this makes sense, I'm having trouble getting the question right! Too may 12 hour days in a row! Thanks Joe

If you've already put in for sheep in Utah this year, you are done applying for once-in-a-lifetime species there this year. You may only apply for one once-in-a-lifetime species in a given year there.

Thank you, that is exactly what I needed to know, I wouldn't mind hunting a goat, but I won't jeopardize my chance at drawing a sheep tag. Now having said that, when I draw my sheep tag this year and get my first sheep, then I'll apply for a goat. (I am an optimist!)
Please don't take this as badmouthing hunting goats, that's not what I mean. As I understand it goats can be just as challenging, if not more so than sheep. I even have heard from one hunter that he thought if goats had horns like sheep they would be the ultimate trophy! Besides I plan on hunting goats someday, I just would prefer to hunt sheep first. Thanks again for the information. Joe
