So here's a different one...

A 168 5/8" Desert Bighorn ram was taken in the White Mountains of California this past Sunday. It was taken on the first auction tag sold for California this year. The White's are a new unit just opened this year after the California Chapter of FNAWS funded the survey necessary to get it open. The ram was 12 years old. Here's the different part... it was killed at an elevation of 12,600' (and no that is NOT a typo).

WoW that area sure opened up early. The rest of the sheep zones do not open up until December.

Then again at 12,600 feet in Mono county it will get very deep in snow

Another Desert ram was later taken in the same unit by Danny O'Connell (a draw tag holder). That was was taken at the 13,400' elevation.

Photo's of both rams can be seen at: http://www.monstermuleys.info/dcforum/DCForumID8/1740.html
