This drawing/raffle is what can best be described in a simple manner as a limited entry endeavor with a number of specific things required to ensure that your entry is valid. Be sure you understand it all before participating. While not a true raffle, it does indeed represent additional tag/permit drawing opportunities outside of, and in addition to, the standard / public Utah draws. As such, it is included in my thinking as a “raffle” opportunity.


YOU MUST APPEAR IN PERSON at the Western Hunting and Conservation Expo (in Salt Lake City, Utah) AND validate your application with a picture ID in order for your application to be complete.

All applications and validations must be complete by 4:00 p.m., Sunday, February 8, 2009. The validation area is just outside of the Expo entrance (at the Salt Palace).

The applicant must have a valid Utah Hunting or Combination License BEFORE validating their application at the convention… Under penalty of law (Utah code R657-5-3) the person who is applying for the convention permits must have a valid Utah season Hunting or Combination License at the time that they validate their application at the convention. Applicants will be checked to verify a valid license and will be rejected if a license cannot be verified. A Utah lifetime license is valid for use as a hunting license.

The below permits are only available for Non-Residents (of Utah) to draw...:
- Desert Bighorn Sheep, Hunt Location: San Rafael, Dirty Devil (1 permit)
- Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep, Hunt Location: Oquirr-Stansbury (1 permit)
- Mountain Goat, Hunt Location: No. Slope/So. Slope, High Uintahs East (1 permit)

The below permits are available equally to residents and non-residents of Utah...:
- Desert Bighorn Sheep, Hunt Location: San Rafael, South (1 permit)
- Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep, Hunt Location: Book Cliffs, South (Rattlesnake) (1 permit)
- Rocky Mountain Goat, Hunt Location: Ogden, Willard Peak (Female Goat Only) (1 permit)
- Rocky Mountain Goat, Hunt Location: Beaver (1 permit)
- Rocky Mountain Goat, Hunt Location: No. Slope/So. Slope, High Uintahs Central (1 permit)
