All you are doing is paying them to do the paperwork for you.If you apply in all states the costs will be quite expensive and of course the odds for any non resident is probably 1-2% after you max out on preference points. Are you getting the picture. If you really want to hunt in the next 15 years save an book a hunt. You will be money ahead. If you are a resident of a sheep draw state never miss the drawing and get all the preference points you can get.

I used the Cabela's TAG Program and was very disappointed with their service. On a least two occasions, I was unable to confirm that applications that I had paid for had actually been filed. If you are going to use a service, and I heartily recommend it, you might want to look at Larry Altimus or Garth Carter's Services.

Hi Ralph, Good question, I looked at Cabelas last year and thought I'd try applying myself first and if that didn't work I would use a "tag" service. I did 2 things and had no problems. #1- I joined Grand Slam Club and #2 joined Carter's. I highly recommend doing both. Last year I applied in every state that had a sheep tag except California and had absolutely no trouble. If I had a question I just posted it on here and got an answer. The money I saved I used for some raffles. I also ended up entering for trophy units for Mountain goat, elk and mule deer. I went into doing this knowing it was going to take awhile to draw a tag so I figured trying it by myself wouldn't hurt me in the long run.
Try it for 1 year yourself and if it doesn't work out look into using a tag service. If you have any questions post them on here, I'll gladly help any way I can and if I can't trust me when I tell you there are people here that can! Good luck. Joe
