Hi, this is my first post to this sight. I'm 25 years old and have hunted since I was old enough to. I am thoroughlty fascinated with the idea of sheep hunting and hope I can get the opportunity someday. I am however discouraged with the lack of opportunity due to cost for most. I make a good living and hope to save for a Dall sheep hunt. I would really like to go after a stone but I would have to make a lot more money for that to happen. I have read to keep an eye out for cancellation hunts, but where do you look, I look at outfitters webpages very often but never have seen one. Where can I find them?

One good way to go about it is to attend as many conventions, hunting shows, etc., etc. as you can. Meet and talk with as many sheep outfitters and guides as you can. They are like all people ... they prefer meeting real people rather than e-mails.

If you want to start this process, go to www.GOABC.ORG immediately. They are doing their annual convention in Victoria, BC (only 4 hour drive and 1 hour ferry from Portland) on Friday and Saturday, March 21-22.

They have a Friday golf "tournament", Friday night 'hootenanny', Saturday brunch and auction and Saturday night dinner. LOTS OF FUN. You will have a chance to meet lots of BC, Yukon and NWT outfitters and guides. You have a lot of time on your side. Invest it wisely and use it generously.

Several booking agents have a distribution list they maintain for cancellation hunts. I've received a couple from Atcheson's in the past month or so...

I hate to bring another website address into this forum, but AR has a bunch of booking agents you can contact for more info.
