Hunters Should Go Online to Check Their Hunter Education Records
The Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) is encouraging hunters to go online now to check their hunter education records in order to avoid problems that could arise this spring when applying for big game tags and purchasing hunting licenses online.

“We are implementing a new system that will converge the online licensing and application process with hunter education. Once complete, it will fill in verified hunter education when a hunter buys a license online,” said Les Smith, NDOW hunter education coordinator.

To avoid last minute problems, hunters are being asked to ensure their hunter information is current and complete. To do this, Nevada residents can go online at www.huntnevada.com and click on the Hunter Education Pre-registration icon and then follow the prompts to print out a pre-registration form. The completed form and proof of hunter education should then be sent to the address on the form.

Hunters born in 1960 or later are required to have successfully completed an approved hunter education class prior to purchasing a Nevada hunting license. Classes that fulfill the requirement are offered year round by NDOW. Information about classes may be obtained on the agency’s web site at www.ndow.org.
