Colorado Goat, Rocky Mountain Bighorn and Desert Bighorn drawing results are now available at http://wildlife.state.co.us/database/
A friend of mine, putting in for the first time, drew a Colorado Desert Bighorn tag! Man, I need some of that luck. |

I had luck shine on me this year. The only desert ram tag in the Dolores River unit in Southwestern Colorado has my name on it. Its going to be a long 6 months until November 6th.
I'm excited about the prospect of having the unit to myself and not competing with another hunter. |

Wow, Mike! That is great! Maybe you will take some great photos and post them here after your scouting trips.
That is neat country around there and I hope your trip turns out to be successful, as well as memorable. Keep us posted on what you see...it is OK to reveal a big ram you find since you are the only tag holder. --------------------------- "Take what the gods offer today and leave your heart's desire until tomorrow." -- Elgin T. Mike,
Holy moley! What great luck. Is this your first sheep draw tag ever? I certainly wish you the best of luck and a huge old ram. Keep us up to date. HM |

HM,
I drew a Rocky tag in Colorado in 2000 and killed a 10 1/2 year old ram that was 35"x36" in S-9, the Sangre de Christos. I've been putting in for desert sheep here during my 5 year waiting period just for grins and giggles. I generaly consider myself pretty unlucky when it comes to winning and drawing tags, so I don't even apply in non-resident sheep lotteries with the advent of the application services that flood the draws with apps. I drew the tag of a lifetime here in Colorado and am absolutely excited beyond belief. I am actually to the point where I'm kind of weirded-out over the whole thing. Today, I'm a half step from booking a dall ram hunt in the Brooks Range in 2005. We are talking full blown infectious case of SHEEP FEVER! I could be a 3/4 slammer in 15 months but lets not count our chickens yet. I plan on traveling to BC to try and photograph Stones in Muncho Lake Provincial park in the end of September to complete my photographic collection of a 700" photo Grand Slam. |
